What Does the following CT Scan Report Indicate?

I am a 67 yr old female. I recently had a cat scan on my spine ( I have severe scoliosis) and it showed a small lymph node on the left side of my thyroid and a rather large nodule on the right side. The doctor(primary care)was more concerned with the lymph node so a needle biopsy was performed with no negativ results. What about the nodule?Do you think I should get this checked, I have been more fatigued than usual and, as weird as this sounds) now, and before all of this started, my neck has been hurting.

Hello,

Yes, you should probably have a fine needle aspiration biopsy of the thyroid nodule. Usually the first step is to get a TSH blood test.

If that is normal or low then you need either a thyroid scan or a fine needle aspiration of the nodule. About 5-10 percent of thyroid nodules are cancer so please do not ignore this finding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
